A look back at 2015

A memorable year is not measured in accomplishments so much as milestones. As 2015 comes to a close, we're proud to have made quite a few and are grateful to those who made them possible:

  • Our team grew to over 500 employees across three locations, and we’re working hard to maintain the same culture and values we’ve held since day one. Fortune Magazine, Crain’s New York, and the Oregonian all recognized us on their Best Places to Work lists this year.

  • For Squarespace customers looking to run a full-fledged store, we completely revamped our Commerce capabilities, and now offer a suite of brand new features that make selling on Squarespace easier than ever.

  • We also introduced the Squarespace Commerce app, giving merchants the opportunity to fulfill orders, manage product inventory, and resolve customer issues directly via an iOS or Android device.

  • For customers looking to publish only a simple one-page website, we launched Cover Pages with a low introductory price, simplified interface, and focused templates.

  • You can now build it beautiful with more templates than ever, thanks to 28 Cover Page layouts and four new Commerce-specific templates.

  • Our second Super Bowl ad featuring Jeff Bridges and his Sleeping Tapes was one of the most popular spots of the year. We raised over $250,000 for No Kid Hungry in the process, which translates to more than 2.5 million meals for children across the U.S.

  • We’ve significantly expanded our live chat coverage across the board and revamped our entire knowledge base and help site. Our Customer Care Team now answers approximately 30,000 tickets and chats from hundreds of thousands of paying customers every week.

  • We participated in our first ever #GivingTuesday campaign, donating $100,000 to Code.org to support their goal of expanding access to computer science education to high school students across the U.S.

As we reflect on the past and plan for the upcoming new year, one thing has not changed – we continue to be inspired by the amazing ideas our customers bring to life. Thank you for making 2015 such a phenomenal year.
