Squarespace Gives Back On #GivingTuesday

This December 1st marks the third year of #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to generosity. Taking place after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two of the largest days of consumerism in the U.S. and across the world, #GivingTuesday encourages spending in a different way — for causes rather than commodities.

To show our support this year, we’re donating $100,000 to Code.org, a nonprofit committed to expanding access to computer science and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students. We’re also raising awareness for #GivingTuesday by offering customers 20% off their first purchase for one day only (December 1st) using the offer code GIVINGTUESDAY.

We believe that coding is a valuable skill in today’s increasingly tech-driven society, serving as an art form as well as a mechanism for economic empowerment. As a world-class design and technology company, we recognize what great web designers and engineers are capable of. We’re proud to support education initiatives for those who might otherwise miss exposure to these life-changing skills.

We hope our efforts on December 1 will further Code.org’s mission, raise awareness for great initiatives like #GivingTuesday, and empower more people to bring their dreams and ideas to life. Build something beautiful on Squarespace with the code GIVINGTUESDAY, and share your creation on social media by tagging @squarespace and #GivingTuesday.
