Wedding Chicks

This site is packed with info and it looks so good, you just want to keep clicking on the links and banners. They do a great job of keeping their content fresh and maintaining their style on every little element. I can’t stress enough how important keeping things consistent is, it separates the good from the great. Excellent work chicks, er..uh ladies.

411 Real Estate

Ahhh illustration, how nice. In a time where stock photos and dated color schemes rule the land, it is so nice to see illustration gaining popularity once again. 411’s header and nice icons really make this site a cut above. I would like to see some more content, or at least more illustrations throughout the site, but over-all, a step in the right direction.

rbblog.png It is with joy in ours and our families hearts that we welcome Rolando Berrios to our team. Though you may never see a pretty image, template or boring business blurb from him, his presence will be behind every second of every day we keep our 99.98% uptime.

Rolando Berrios (a SenseNet alumnus) has been a systems engineer and developer working at internet companies for a long time now. His work experience includes several high profile web sites, including TD Ameritrade, the NYTimes.com and Forbes.com where he was responsible for maintaining and improving upon the infrastructure of some of the most visited sites on the internet. Prior to joining Squarespace, he played a major role in developing a stable systems platform for Vidavee, which was subsequently sold to Vignette. Throughout his career he’s been focused on increasing availability, uptime, and scalability, always striving for the perfect night of uninterrupted rest.

Cheers,

The Squarespace Team

Hudson Interior Design

Squarespace has some great templates, we all know this, but it can be easy to fall into the confines of a template and not think outside the box. For some people, a template is all they need, drop in the content and your set. For others, templates should be seen as starting points for something greater. Hudson Interior Design does a great job at getting creative with their content area. It takes some knowledge of html and css, but a little bit of knowledge can go a long with in this case. Nice work.

Rumba

Sometimes the hardest obstacle to overcome in designing a site is not over-designing it. Letting the design fade into the background and letting the content shine is a skill all in its own right. It isn’t always going to be applicable, but when it is, less is more, and it can be a challenge. Rumba has really done a great job here with keeping things simple and well spaced. White space people! Learn it and love it.
